In these two installments of the “Lou’s Change” 1969 Camaro build, the\u00a0V8 Speed and Resto<\/a>\u00a0shop crew is installing the Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission into the ’69 Camaro.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Although this car was originally a 4-speed manual, the modern 6-speed requires some different steps to install.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The T-56 Magnum is the factory transmission behind the 640 HP Corvette ZR1, so we know it will be up to the task in our Camaro.\u00a0\u00a0 We used a complete kit from Modern Driveline after speaking with Bruce Couture about the considerations, including the size of the\u00a0Toyo Proxes R888<\/a>\u00a0tires and rear gear ratio of the\u00a0Currie 9+\u00a0<\/a>rear axle.
