The tangs MUST GO UNDER the ball-end of the pivot stud.Use both hands as necessary.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NOTE: If the tangs push-out to the side there is a risk the tangs will break.<\/strong><\/span><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-45196\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moderndriveline.com\/mm5\/graphics\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/LEVER-1-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"381\" \/>Above is the pivot stud correctly attached to the fork (not attached to the bell)(<em>grease not shown here<\/em>)&nbsp;<u>Install the Throw-Out Bearing. <\/u>Apply high-pressure wheel bearing grease to the inside recess area of the Throw-Out bearing.The recessed area is all the way around and not very deep. \u2013 Red arrow shown below.**<em> You will not need a lot of grease here.<\/em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-45197\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moderndriveline.com\/mm5\/graphics\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/LEVER-2-300x226.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"494\" height=\"372\" \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;Then apply high-pressure wheel bearing grease to the contact surface of the clutch fork and throw-out bearing interface surface before installing \u2013 Red arrow shown below.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-45198\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moderndriveline.com\/mm5\/graphics\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/LEVER-3-300x171.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"495\" height=\"282\" \/>&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BE SURE THE INSTALLATION OF THE THROW-OUT BEARING ONTO THE CLUTCH FORK IS CORRECT.<\/strong><\/span>THIS IS HOW:The throw-out bearing has a detent bump. We are asked which way does it go?From a functional standpoint,it does not matter, the bump is only there to keep the bearing from spinning on the guide tube of the transmission.However, if it is installed with the detent bump facing the pivot stud\u2026 should the bearing start to cause too much resistance (pre-failure) it will want to rotate on the tube and try to kick the clutch lever \u201cup\u201d and you will hear\/see\/feel movement.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-45199\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moderndriveline.com\/mm5\/graphics\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/LEVER-4-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"491\" height=\"368\" \/>Shown above is the <strong>CORRECT<\/strong> way to install the bearing.The spring-ends must be under the bearing surface with the red arrow.
