HOW TO: Tell if you have a Married or Divorced Transfer Case

When it comes to a manual 5 or 6-speed update or conversion in offroad applications a question we are asked a lot is how do I tell if I have a married or divorced transfer case?

Visually it is very simple.

Married – trans is bolted directly to transfer case.

Divorced – there is a short driveshaft from trans to transfer case.
