Description
The Superior Clutch Set bridges the gap between basic organic clutches that fade under spirited driving and aggressive racing clutches that chatter at every stoplight. This hybrid-facing design delivers 400 ft-lb of holding power while maintaining the smooth engagement characteristics you need for street driving.
The engineering starts with the friction material pairing. Kevlar facing on the flywheel side provides excellent heat resistance and durability under repeated hard launches - it won't glaze or fade when the temperature climbs. Steel-backed organic material on the pressure plate side ensures progressive, linear engagement that makes stop-and-go traffic bearable. This combination gives you confident holding power without the on/off engagement of a full-puck setup.
Every Superior clutch disk is hand-built in-house at MDL, allowing complete control over quality and tolerances. Each disk is checked and double-checked for accuracy before shipping. The sprung hub design absorbs driveline shock during engagement, reducing gear rattle and extending transmission life. The diaphragm pressure plate features a lower lever height specifically engineered for hydraulic release bearing clearance.
This kit fits Ford applications using the 12-5/8" equidistant bolt pattern with a 26 spline x 1-1/8" input shaft. Designed for hydraulic actuation systems - hydraulic throwout bearing sold separately. Made in the USA and backed by a 1-year warranty.
