When you need to convert your Ford big block to an 11.5" long pattern clutch setup, this Superior Series kit delivers the aggressive performance and reliability that serious builds demand. The hybrid Kevlar/ceramic facing configuration solves the classic problem of needing more holding power without sacrificing engagement quality--the ceramic flywheel-side facing provides immediate bite and extreme heat tolerance, while the Kevlar pressure plate facing ensures smooth engagement and extended service life.
Ceramic and semi-metallic friction materials carry a higher coefficient of friction than organic or Kevlar-only facings, meaning they bite harder and hold more power given the same clamping force. The iron content in the ceramic material actually increases friction as temperatures climb, making this an ideal choice for road racing, drag launches, and any application where heat management is critical. When increasing clutch diameter or pressure plate clamp load isn't an option, the Kevlar/ceramic combination is the right way to get higher torque capacity out of your existing package.
The 11.5" long pattern pressure plate increases surface area over smaller diameter clutches, delivering the 600 lb-ft torque capacity this kit is rated for. The diaphragm-style pressure plate provides consistent engagement across the entire friction surface, eliminating hot spots and uneven wear patterns.
