Description
Converting from automatic to manual transmission requires more than just swapping the gearbox -- the clutch pedal needs a proper stop point to function correctly. Automatic-equipped cars never came with this component because they had no clutch pedal, so when you add one during a conversion, you need a way to limit pedal travel at the top of its stroke. This MDL clutch pedal stop provides exactly that: a solid mechanical stop that positions the clutch pedal at the correct rest position for proper master cylinder operation and smooth clutch release.
The stop assembly mounts to the left side of the pedal support bracket, placing it in the exact position to contact the clutch pedal arm at full extension. Without proper pedal travel control, clutch systems can feel spongy, fail to return smoothly, or cause premature wear on linkage and hydraulic components. This component eliminates those issues by providing a consistent, repeatable stop point that keeps the clutch system geometry correct.
Designed specifically for mid-1960s Ford applications where automatic-to-manual swaps are common. The stop works with both mechanical Z-bar linkage and hydraulic clutch systems, making it compatible with period-correct restorations and modern conversion kits alike. Installation is straightforward -- no drilling, cutting, or fabrication required.
Applications include 1965-66 Mustang, 1962-66 Fairlane, and 1960-61 Galaxie models originally equipped with automatic transmissions.
