Modern manual transmissions feature complex internal components -- multiple gear sets, clutch packs and narrow oil passageways -- that demand a steady supply of high-quality fluid to function properly. Without it, wear and sludge formation can lead to reduced performance and even catastrophic failure requiring thousands of dollars in repairs. This AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid delivers the Dexron III specification required by TREMEC transmissions while providing protection that exceeds conventional fluids.
In both normal and severe service, this synthetic ATF resists wear to the transmission's valve body, gears, clutch plates and synchronizers, helping your TREMEC achieve long service life. The thermally stable formulation guards against the harmful effects of thermal breakdown in elevated heat conditions, while resisting heat-related evaporation and viscosity loss to keep internal components clean and protected.
Formulated with friction modifiers that promote fast, smooth clutch engagement, this fluid delivers responsive shift feel and efficient torque transfer. It remains fluid in sub-zero temperatures, resisting thickening and flowing quickly for reliable shifts during cold starts. The excellent low-temperature fluidity also maximizes fuel efficiency. Seal conditioners help guard against leaks at input shaft seals and other critical points.
TREMEC TKX transmissions use Dexron III or Dexron III/Mercon specification ATF fluid, and Dexron III ATF is also recommended for T56 and TR3650 models. The T5, TKO and TKX five-speed transmissions require approximately 2.75 quarts, while six-speed Magnum transmissions require approximately 3.45 quarts. TREMEC recommends changing fluid after the initial 500-1000 mile break-in period, then every 30,000 miles thereafter.
