Description
Converting to a modern five-speed transmission doesn't mean abandoning your early Ford's proven mechanical clutch linkage. This fulcrum adapter kit bridges the gap between 1960-65 engineering and contemporary aluminum bellhousings, allowing you to run your original wire-style fork and Z-bar linkage with a '79-'93 Mustang V8 T5, SROD, 3550, TKO, or TKX aluminum bellhousing.
The installation is straightforward: drill two precisely located holes in your aluminum bellhousing, secure the solid steel adapter with the supplied hardware, and you're ready to mate your early mechanical linkage to modern transmission hardware. This approach eliminates the complexity and potential failure points of hydraulic or cable conversions while preserving the direct, connected pedal feel that Ford refined in the early '60s.
Designed for 1960-65 Falcon, Fairlane, and Galaxie builds, plus 1964.5-1965 Mustangs stepping up to five-speed performance. If your engine block lacks the factory Z-bar mounting provisions, pair this adapter with MDL's Z-bar clutch pivot bracket (MD-401-2019) for a complete mechanical linkage solution.
