Description
The factory TREMEC T56 shifter in the '04-'06 Pontiac GTO works well enough when new, but after miles and abuse, the throws get sloppy and shift feel degrades. The Qwik Stik solves this with a precision-machined short-throw design that delivers lightning-quick response and solid engagement. More importantly, the Qwik Stik features a smaller top turret specifically sized to clear the GTO's tunnel shifter opening--no cutting or modifying your floor pan.
The billet aluminum base mounts directly to your transmission case, eliminating the guesswork and hassle of shifter placement. The Belleville washer detent system provides excellent, consistent detent pressure for positive gear engagement, particularly noticeable on 2-3 shifts under power. Unlike shifters with mechanical stops that wear out or break under hard use, the Qwik Stik's stop-free design relies on transmission internals for shift limits--meaning nothing on the shifter itself to service or replace.
The offset stub configuration gives you flexibility for different seating positions or tunnel clearance requirements. Choose between 2.600" or 2.950" forward offset with a 1" left position to keep the lever exactly where your hand wants it. The 7/8-inch on-center mounting pattern accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so attach your lever, boot, and shift knob and you're ready to drive.
Compatible with TREMEC T56 non-Magnum transmissions from 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO applications with stock depth bellhousing of 5.550". Rear shifter position. Made in the USA with lifetime tech support from Modern Driveline.
