This hybrid friction surface setup combines the smooth street characteristics of Kevlar with the aggressive holding power of ceramic -- engineered specifically for high-performance street cars, weekend dragsters, and road racers who demand both drivability and power handling from a compact 10-inch package.
The engineering centers on surface chemistry and friction coefficients. Kevlar on the pressure plate side provides smooth, progressive engagement for superior street manners and twice the service life of organic facings. Ceramic on the flywheel side cranks up the coefficient of friction -- the higher the coefficient, the more torque you can hold with the same clamping force. MDL ceramics contain iron pieces that create more friction as the material gets hotter, making them ideal for repeated hard use. This dual-surface approach lets you extract maximum performance from the stock 289/302 10-inch long pattern without the pedal effort penalties of full ceramic or the power limitations of all-organic setups.
The diaphragm pressure plate uses the correct 3-1/8in bolt spacing with 5/16in pressure plate bolts for proper fitment to stock Ford 10in long pattern flywheels. The carrier features a fully sprung hub with marcel spring technology -- critical for absorbing drivetrain shock loads and maintaining smooth operation across the entire engagement range. Designed for cable actuation systems on four-speed and T5 conversions.
