Description
When you need serious holding power for your GM application but can't step up to a larger diameter clutch, friction material selection becomes your primary tool. The Superior Kevlar/Ceramic clutch set pairs two materials strategically: Kevlar on the pressure plate side for controlled engagement, and ceramic on the flywheel side for maximum grip and heat resistance. This combination delivers the higher coefficient of friction needed to hold more power without increasing clutch diameter or clamp load.
Ceramic friction material is engineered for higher horsepower applications, quicker shifts in road racing, and a hard-hitting bite for drag launches. The iron content in MDL ceramics actually increases friction as temperatures climb - a critical advantage when you're stacking runs or pushing hard through a road course session. Where organic materials fade under abuse, ceramics thrive. The Kevlar backing on the pressure plate side moderates engagement for improved street manners while still delivering aggressive lockup.
The 10.5" diaphragm pressure plate provides consistent clamping force across the full disc surface, and the sprung-hub disc absorbs driveline shock that would otherwise hammer your input shaft. The 26-spline 1-1/8" hub matches GM transmissions including TKO, TKX, and other 26-spline applications. Engineered specifically for hydraulic actuation, this kit ships without a throwout bearing so you can match it to your hydraulic release bearing or internal slave setup.
