Rated at 450 ft-lb, this setup handles serious performance street and autocross duty while maintaining the smooth engagement characteristics that make daily driving livable.
The Kevlar/steel-backed organic disc construction addresses the fundamental weakness of standard organic clutches: heat-induced failure under aggressive use. The Kevlar facing provides excellent grip and extended service life, while the steel backing prevents disc separation - a common failure mode when conventional organic clutches are pushed beyond their thermal limits. The sprung hub design absorbs drivetrain shock loads and dampens gear rattle for quieter, more refined operation.
This kit uses the traditional Ford 11-inch long-style pressure plate pattern with 3-3/8-inch center-to-center bolt spacing. The diaphragm-style pressure plate maintains consistent clamping force as the disc wears, eliminating the pedal effort creep common with worn coil-spring designs. The 10-spline 1-1/16-inch disc hub matches Ford small block transmission input shafts.
Every Superior clutch disc is hand-assembled at MDL's facility in Caldwell, Idaho. Each component undergoes rigorous inspection for exacting tolerances before shipping - no mass-produced shortcuts.
