The 12-inch layback configuration places the shift knob exactly where you want it--4 inches back and 11 inches up from the mounting point with a 30-degree bend that follows the natural arc of your shifting motion. This geometry puts the knob closer to the driver for shorter reaches and more comfortable throws, especially in tight interiors or deep bucket seat setups.
