Cheap plastic shift knobs crack, fade, and lose their graphics after a few seasons of hard driving. The Rally Series solves that problem with a premium 2-1/8" diameter knob that combines classic rally racing aesthetics with materials engineered specifically for performance applications.
The knob body uses a specially formulated high-impact polymer resin developed for the automotive industry -- not generic plastic that develops stress cracks with age and temperature cycling. This material maintains structural integrity through years of daily driving and spirited shifting. The pearl gray rally stripes are applied subsurface during manufacturing, embedded into the material itself rather than painted on top. They will never chip, peel, or wear off no matter how many miles you put on the shifter.
The 16mm x 1.50 brass master insert exceeds automotive industry specifications for static pull (200 ft-lb) and twist torque (20 ft-lb), ensuring rock-solid engagement with your shift lever. The included brass jam nut locks the knob securely in place. Thread reducers are available separately for compatibility with common shift lever threads including 5/16-18, 3/8-16, 3/8-24, 7/16-20, 1/2-13, 1/2-20, and various metric sizes -- contact MDL to confirm the correct adapter for your application.
