Factory plastic shift knobs crack, fade, and wear out - the graphics rub off, the threads strip, and the whole thing looks tired after a few seasons of hard use. The R-Series shift ball solves these problems with purpose-built construction designed for real driving conditions.
This 2-1/8" diameter shift knob is molded from a specially formulated high-impact polymer resin engineered specifically for automotive applications. Unlike generic plastics, this material is designed not to develop stress cracks with aging, handling the thermal cycling and mechanical stress of performance driving. The black rally stripes are subsurface - embedded into the white base material rather than printed or painted on top - creating a smooth finish that stays sharp shift after shift.
The 16mm x 1.50 brass master insert is the foundation of this knob's durability. This solid brass threading exceeds the auto industry's specification of 200 ft. lbs. static pull and 20 ft. lbs. twist torque, ensuring it won't strip or fail when you're rowing through gears under load. At 4 ounces, the weight provides positive shift engagement without excessive mass that can stress your synchros. Each knob is precision machined and polished to a high gloss finish.
