    Key Features

    • 0.700" bore x 1.4" stroke master cylinder generates optimal fluid volume for most external and internal slave cylinders
    • CNC-milled billet aluminum reservoir with silver finish replaces typical plastic reservoirs for a show-quality underhood appearance
    • Firewall-mounted linkage design reduces pedal effort and minimizes firewall stress compared to direct-mount master cylinders
    • Uses stock clutch pedal and rod hole location for straightforward bolt-in installation
    • Complete one-man bleeder kit included for simplified solo system bleeding
    • Compatible with MDL LF Series external slaves and Tilton 6000 Series internal hydraulic release bearings
    • Made in the USA with lifetime technical support

    Description

Converting your 1960-1972 Chevy C10 or C20 from mechanical Z-bar linkage to hydraulic clutch actuation eliminates adjustment hassles, worn linkage slop, and heavy pedal effort. This LF (Light Foot) Series master cylinder kit solves the engineering challenge that has frustrated builders for decades: how to retrofit hydraulics without sacrificing pedal feel or requiring extensive firewall modifications.

The conventional approach to hydraulic conversion uses a large-bore 3/4" or 7/8" master cylinder mounted directly to the pedal with a short 1" stroke. This results in heavy pedal pressure, interference issues with the firewall or pedal assembly, and awkward geometry that forces the rod hole to be relocated higher than stock. The LF Series takes a fundamentally different approach: a 0.700" small-bore master cylinder with a long 1.4" stroke generates the fluid volume modern slave cylinders require while using the full factory swing of the pedal for maximum mechanical advantage. The firewall-mounted linkage positions the master cylinder perpendicular to the firewall at the strongest point, greatly reducing firewall flex and stress while keeping pedal effort light and controllable.

This kit includes the upgraded CNC-milled billet aluminum reservoir with a silver finish, replacing the standard plastic reservoir with a show-quality component that complements serious builds. Pair this master cylinder with an MDL LF Series external slave cylinder or Tilton 6000 Series internal hydraulic release bearing for a complete hydraulic clutch system engineered to work together. The system uses standard DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid and requires 1.4" of master cylinder throw for proper clutch disengagement.

This kit requires the factory clutch pedal components to be in good working order - any modifications or damage to the firewall, pedal, or pedal hanger will affect master cylinder performance. Designed and manufactured in the United States with lifetime technical support.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
