    Description

The LF Series Hydraulic Master Kit solves the frustrating problems that plague most hydraulic clutch conversions in classic Chevy trucks. Traditional kits using 3/4" or 7/8" bore master cylinders with short 1" strokes create heavy pedal pressure, limited travel, and constant firewall interference - forcing the cylinder higher than the stock linkage hole and creating clearance nightmares. This engineered system takes a different approach: a smaller 0.700" bore paired with a longer 1.4" stroke uses the full swing of your factory clutch pedal to deliver light effort and precise clutch modulation.

The mechanical linkage design mounts directly to your stock clutch pedal rod hole, eliminating the guesswork and custom fabrication that other kits require. Instead of concentrating all hydraulic force at a single firewall point, the included firewall plate distributes loads across a broader area, reducing stress on aging sheet metal while providing the design flexibility to position components correctly. The remote plastic reservoir mounts separately, keeping bulk away from crowded firewall real estate.

This master cylinder's fluid volume is specifically matched to work with today's most popular hydraulic slave cylinders. Pair it with an MDL LF Series external slave kit or a Tilton 6000 Series internal hydraulic release bearing for a complete turnkey hydraulic clutch solution. Uses DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid - no special high-temperature fluid required.

Fits 1960-1972 C10/C20 Chevy trucks using the stock clutch pedal. Made in the USA with lifetime technical support from Modern Driveline.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
