    Description

Early C2 Corvettes came with mechanical clutch linkage that works fine - until it doesn't. Z-bar binding, worn pivot points, and inconsistent pedal feel are inevitable with age and hard use. This LF Series hydraulic master kit eliminates the mechanical z-bar linkage entirely, replacing it with a modern hydraulic system engineered specifically for '63-'66 C2 Corvettes.

The heart of this system is Tilton's 78 Series master cylinder featuring a billet aluminum body with proprietary low-friction coatings that minimize wear and provide smooth operation throughout the pedal stroke. The rear spherical bearing mount and one-piece piston/pushrod eliminate side thrust into the master cylinder bore, delivering consistent and repeatable clutch engagement lap after lap. The 0.750-inch bore is specifically matched to factory pedal geometry - no modifications to your original pedal assembly required.

What sets this kit apart from universal solutions is the billet aluminum frame bracket that bolts directly to original 4-speed chassis mounting points. No flexing, no adapters, no compromises. The bracket positions the master cylinder exactly where it needs to be for proper pushrod alignment with the factory pedal. The remote reservoir mounts cleanly with the included 24-inch braided stainless line, while a 12-inch line with -4AN 90-degree fitting provides the slave cylinder supply connection.

Fits 1963-1966 C2 Corvettes with original manual transmission frames or automatic frames with the original z-bar bracket added. Works with original factory clutch pedal assemblies and OE reproduction aftermarket pedals. Slave cylinder and slave-to-master line sold separately. Uses DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. Made in the USA.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
