Description
Non-console Chevelles use a retaining ring to secure the rubber shifter boot to the floor hump - without it, the boot won't seal properly and you're left with dirt, moisture, and exhaust fumes entering the cabin around the shifter opening. This reproduction lower shifter boot ring replaces the original factory component that's often missing or damaged on restoration projects.
The retaining ring mounts under the carpet and creates the foundation for a proper boot installation. The ring seals the rubber boot to the floor, preventing debris and road noise from entering through the shifter opening. This is the same mounting system GM used on original non-console applications - the ring secures to the floor hump, carpet fits over top, and the boot assembly completes the seal at the shifter.
Designed specifically for 1964-1967 Chevelle applications without a center console, this retaining ring works with standard rubber shifter boots to complete the lower sealing system. The included mounting hardware means you have everything needed for installation without hunting for fasteners.
