This custom steel driveshaft uses 3" Drawn Over Mandrel tubing that delivers 15% more torsional strength than original equipment, ensuring reliable power transfer from your Hi-Po transmission to the rear axle.
DOM tubing offers distinct advantages over conventional welded-seam construction. The drawing process creates superior concentricity and uniform wall thickness throughout the tube, which translates directly to better balance characteristics and smoother operation at high RPM. There is no weak weld seam to worry about - the DOM process produces tubing with the highest weld strength achievable, making it the preferred choice for performance driveline applications.
Each driveshaft is custom-built to your vehicle's measurements using a forged steel 28-spline slip yoke and 1310 series u-joints front and rear. The 1310 series handles moderate torque loads typical of Hi-Po Mustang applications, with continuous ratings around 400 lb-ft and short-duration capacity up to 800 lb-ft. Every shaft is precision balanced on modern driveline equipment to tolerances far tighter than OEM specifications, eliminating vibration and ensuring smooth power delivery across all RPM ranges.
Finished with durable black paint for a classic appearance and corrosion protection. Fits 1965-1973 Mustang Hi-Po applications. Made in the USA with lifetime tech support from MDL.
