Description
Swapping a TREMEC TKO into a '65-'73 Mustang creates a shifter positioning problem - the stock TKO shifter sits too far forward for comfortable, natural hand placement. The Qwik Stik solves this by relocating the shift point rearward to the factory Mustang position while delivering short-throw performance that makes rapid gear changes effortless.
These precision-machined billet aluminum shifter plates bolt directly to your TKO-500 or TKO-600 transmission, eliminating the guesswork of custom shifter fabrication. The engineering addresses the specific challenges of classic Mustang swaps: a compact top turret clears the restrictive factory tunnel opening, while the 1" or 1.5" backward offset brings the shift lever exactly where your hand expects it. Belleville washers deliver the firm, positive detent feel that enables lightning-fast 2-3 shifts - the kind of mechanical feedback serious drivers demand.
Unlike designs with internal stops that can break or bind under aggressive use, this shifter uses a Belleville spring system with no stops, allowing easy servicing when needed. The included high-temperature dust boot seals the transmission opening while handling heat soak from hard driving.
