Description
Swapping a TREMEC Magnum 6-speed into a 1965 Impala creates a serious problem: factory shifter locations rarely align with the classic tunnel opening. The MDL Qwik Stik solves this by delivering precision shifter relocation with a 2" left offset and selectable backward positioning (1.95" or 2.45"), placing your shift lever exactly where the factory intended—no console butchery required.
This short-throw, close-ratio shifter does far more than relocate the shift point. The Belleville washer detent system replaces the vague, rubbery feel of stock shifters with crisp, positive engagement that transforms every gear change. Unlike conventional shifters with plastic or metal stops that eventually break, the Qwik Stik's no-stops design uses Belleville springs for precise detent feel while eliminating wear-prone components. When service is needed, the entire assembly is easily accessible.
The smaller top turret is specifically engineered to clear tight classic car tunnel openings—a common clearance issue with stock Magnum shifters in vintage GM applications. CNC-machined from billet aluminum and anodized for durability, this shifter delivers significant weight savings over cast alternatives. The 7/8" on-center mounting pattern accepts most aftermarket shift levers from Hurst, B&M, and other popular manufacturers.
Each Qwik Stik includes a high-temperature lower dust boot to protect internal components from road debris and contaminants. Precision machined and anodized plates mount directly to your transmission, eliminating guesswork and hassle from shifter placement. Proudly made in the USA with lifetime technical support from Modern Driveline.
