Description
A TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-speed is simply too big to fit into an OE transmission tunnel. When you upgrade your 1967-1969 Camaro to this 700 lb-ft-capable 6-speed, you need to modify the tunnel to achieve proper driveline geometry and adequate clearance for headers and exhaust routing. This weld-in tunnel panel eliminates the guesswork from that critical modification.
MDL designed this steel tunnel patch to provide the correct height increase for T56 Magnum installation. The engineering challenge is not just clearance—it is maintaining the precise driveline angle that prevents vibration, premature U-joint wear, and drivetrain harmonics. This panel addresses that problem directly, giving you the room you need while keeping the driveline properly aligned.
Factory-style reinforcement ribs are stamped into the panel to maintain tunnel stiffness after modification. This is not a flat sheet that will flex and resonate—the ribs replicate OE construction for a finished result that looks and performs like factory. Measure and cut your existing tunnel, then weld this patch in place for a permanent, professional installation.
Compatible with all 1967-1969 Camaros undergoing T56 Magnum conversions. This is a sheet metal tunnel panel only—tunnel support is sold separately.
