    Description

Eliminate the worn Z-bar linkages, vague pedal feel, and constant adjustment headaches of your '67 Corvette's mechanical clutch system. This Bowler Performance hydraulic clutch master kit converts your C2 to smooth, modern hydraulic operation while mounting directly to the original frame--no firewall drilling, no universal brackets, no compromises.

The system centers on a precision Tilton 78 Series master cylinder featuring a 0.75-inch bore billet aluminum body with proprietary low-friction coatings for smooth operation and minimal wear. The rear spherical bearing mount and one-piece piston/pushrod design eliminate side thrust into the master cylinder bore, delivering consistent and repeatable clutch engagement every time. The stroke is specifically matched to work with your factory pedal assembly.

Unlike universal kits that rely on flimsy firewall-mounted brackets, this engineered solution bolts directly to your original 4-speed chassis mounting points. That rigid frame connection eliminates the bracket flexing that causes spongy pedal feel and inconsistent slave cylinder actuation. The kit includes a complete 1967 pedal bracket, so your clutch pedal maintains factory geometry and feel.

Installation requires an original manual transmission frame or the addition of original Z-bar brackets to an automatic frame. The system works with factory pedal assemblies and OE reproduction aftermarket pedals. Use DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid only. Slave cylinder and slave supply line sold separately.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
