The "big bearing" designation refers to the larger input bearing retainer and corresponding throwout bearing used on 428CJ four-speeds--these transmissions run a 1-3/8" x 10 spline input shaft, which requires this specific fork geometry to properly engage the larger-diameter throwout bearing.

The clutch fork is the critical lever between your external clutch linkage (Z-bar and rods) and the throwout bearing inside the bellhousing.
