Description
Converting a '69-'70 Mustang or Cougar from automatic to manual transmission? The biggest headache is wrestling the clutch pedal pivot shaft through the pedal support bracket in tight under-dash confines. MDL's clutch pedal solves that problem with a removable bolt-on pivot shaft that slides into place after the pedal arm is positioned - no need to drop the entire pedal support or contort yourself into impossible angles.
This OEM-spec replacement duplicates the original '69-'70 clutch pedal in every dimension and mounting point, with one critical improvement: the bolt-on pivot shaft design. It drops right into place whether you're working with an existing manual setup or converting from automatic. When converting, the stock pedal support is reused and the brake pedal simply gets trimmed on the left side to create the narrower manual-shift pad - no replacement brake pedal required.
The pedal includes all necessary mounting provisions for various clutch release systems. A spring pivot point comes installed for use with stock mechanical linkage, though the spring is not needed when running cable or hydraulic clutch release. The included rubber pedal stop prevents metal-to-metal contact that causes annoying squeaks and premature wear at the pedal travel limit.
