The MDL LF Series (Light Foot) master cylinder kit delivers a complete, engineered solution for '70-'71 Camaro and Firebird applications. The system uses the factory clutch pedal's full swing for maximum leverage, translating to light pedal effort and precise clutch control that transforms your driving experience.

    The aluminum master cylinder features a 0.75-inch bore with a long-stroke design that generates the fluid volume required by today's hydraulic slave cylinders. Unlike direct-mount systems that create heavy pedal pressure and firewall interference, the LF Series positions the master cylinder directly in front of the clutch pedal using the stock clutch rod hole. This approach reduces loading on both the firewall and the pedal pivot shaft while maintaining proper pedal geometry.

    The firewall support plate mounts behind the brake master cylinder or booster -- positioning the load where the firewall is structurally strongest and eliminating flex under pedal pressure. The black anodized billet aluminum remote reservoir features OE-quality construction with a clamp-free design that eliminates potential leak points. The system works with most internal and external slave cylinders, making it an ideal foundation for pairing with Tilton Engineering internal hydraulic release bearings for a complete clutch actuation solution.     Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
