    Description

Converting your '70-'71 Camaro or Firebird from mechanical linkage to hydraulics used to mean piecing together a kit from scratch -- and often left you frustrated with poor pedal feel or excessive effort. The LF Series Hydraulic Clutch Master Kit solves that problem with an engineered solution that uses your stock clutch pedal while delivering the smooth, consistent actuation only hydraulics can provide.

The engineering centers on a 0.750-inch bore, long-stroke master cylinder paired with an innovative pedal linkage that uses the factory full swing of the pedal for maximum leverage. The result is light pedal effort and full control of the clutch -- a drive you will actually enjoy. Unlike generic master cylinders that bolt directly to the pedal with a short stroke and heavy pressure, the LF Series matches pedal travel to cylinder stroke for proper fluid volume without overloading the firewall or your left leg.

Installation stays straightforward because the kit uses the stock clutch rod hole, requiring very little change to the car. The master cylinder mounts on a firewall plate that goes under the brake master cylinder or booster where the firewall is strongest, eliminating flex and providing a solid, consistent pedal feel. The remote plastic reservoir mounts cleanly on the firewall with no clamps that can leak over time. Pair this kit with a Tilton Engineering internal hydraulic release bearing or an MDL LF Series external slave for a complete hydraulic clutch solution ready to install. Made in the USA.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
