Description
After 50-plus years of use, worn pivot bushings and sloppy pedal arms kill the precise feel you need for smooth clutch engagement and confident braking. This replacement clutch and brake pedal assembly restores factory-fresh pedal action to second-generation Camaro and Firebird F-Bodies, eliminating the binding and excessive freeplay that plague original equipment.
Each pedal assembly is manufactured from stamped steel and heat treated for long-lasting durability, addressing the common failure points that develop in high-mileage originals. The clutch pedal arm comes with the correct installed pushrod bushing and pedal pad base, ready for your choice of pedal pads. The included nylon pivot bushings deliver smooth, bind-free operation and resist the wear that causes pedal slop over time.
This assembly uses the 1973-1981 style narrow clutch pedal configuration. Note that 1972 models originally came equipped with a full-size clutch pedal that matched the brake pedal width. If you have a '72 and require the larger original-style clutch pedal for a concours-correct restoration, you'll need the 1970-1971 pedal assembly instead.
Fits all 1972-1981 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models equipped with manual transmissions. Works with both manual and power brake setups. Pedal pads sold separately--MDL recommends pedal pad kit MD-412-0302-MB for manual brakes or MD-412-0302-DB for power brakes to complete the OEM appearance.
