    Description

Eliminate the worn mechanical linkage, binding, and inconsistent pedal feel plaguing your '73-'87 Chevy C10 or C20 with a complete hydraulic clutch conversion. This master cylinder kit replaces problematic mechanical actuation with smooth, reliable hydraulics that deliver consistent engagement and reduced pedal effort—whether you're swapping in a modern TREMEC or simply upgrading your existing drivetrain.

The heart of this system is a precision 0.750" bore master cylinder with a long-stroke design that generates high fluid volume with minimal pedal input. This small bore/long stroke combination keeps firewall stress low while maintaining the light pedal feel you want in a daily driver or weekend cruiser. The included firewall mounting plate with mechanical linkage further reduces firewall loading by distributing force across a larger area and providing mechanical advantage through the linkage geometry.

Installation flexibility is built in. The kit uses the stock clutch pedal rod hole where possible, maintaining a clean factory appearance. For '73-'84 trucks, you'll need to source a manual clutch pedal (supplier pedal set or rework your existing manual pedal). The '85-'87 OE hydraulic pedals work directly with this kit. The universal remote reservoir mounts where you have space, connected via 24" of -4AN braided stainless line for flexibility in tight engine bays.

This master works with most internal hydraulic release bearings and external slave cylinders on the market. Pair it with MDL's Eliminator Series external slave or a Tilton internal hydraulic release bearing for a complete conversion solution. Uses standard DOT 3 brake fluid. Made in the USA with lifetime technical support included.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
