Description
A torn or deteriorated lower shift boot lets exhaust fumes, road noise, and debris flood your cabin every time you drive. This replacement lower shifter dust boot restores the factory seal between your shifter and the transmission tunnel, keeping the interior of your 1979-2004 Mustang clean and free of unwanted fumes.
The lower boot mounts underneath the floor pan on top of the transmission hump, directly beneath your center console. The shifter arm passes through the central opening while the boot's perimeter seals against the tunnel, creating a barrier that blocks exhaust gases and road grit from entering the cockpit. This is the under-floor seal--not the visible leather or vinyl boot inside the cabin.
Built from durable rubber, this boot handles the constant flex and movement of manual shifting without cracking or tearing. It fits all manual transmission Mustangs from 1979 through 2004, including T5, T45, and TR-3650 equipped cars across Fox body, SN-95, and New Edge platforms. Note: This is the dust boot only and does not include a metal retainer ring.
