When building a custom cockpit or converting to a hydraulic clutch system, mounting the master cylinder in a forward position outside the firewall keeps the cabin clean and makes fluid checks and bleeding far more accessible. This Wilwood floor mount pedal assembly solves that problem with a single-pedal design engineered for brake or clutch applications in race cars, kit cars, hot rods, and custom builds.
The heart of the assembly is a forged aluminum I-beam style pedal arm delivering a 6:1 mechanical advantage ratio. That ratio multiplies your leg force six times at the master cylinder pushrod, reducing pedal effort while maintaining precise modulation. The I-beam cross-section keeps the arm lightweight yet extremely rigid under load, eliminating flex that robs pedal feel. The entire frame is aluminum with steel pivots and mounting studs where strength matters most, finished in a durable black E-coat for corrosion resistance.
Adjustability is built in: the non-skid waffled pedal pad can be repositioned laterally to accommodate different driver seating positions or to clear chassis obstructions. The assembly accepts any Wilwood vertical mount flange master cylinder, whether single-outlet for clutch use or tandem-outlet for four-wheel brake systems. Horizontal mount flange master cylinders can be adapted using Wilwood adapter kit 250-3677 (sold separately). Master cylinders are ordered separately by bore size to match your hydraulic system requirements.
Important: Four-wheel brake systems require a two-circuit tandem outlet master cylinder for safety. Single outlet master cylinders should only be used for clutch applications or dedicated front/rear brake circuits.
