    Description

    When off-the-shelf driveshafts don't fit your build, MDL's custom steel driveshafts deliver precision-fabricated solutions tailored to your exact specifications. This unit pairs a 1310 series front U-joint with a smaller 1100 series rear U-joint - a combination commonly needed when connecting Ford transmissions to older rear ends or applications with unique pinion yoke requirements.

    The 3" Direct Over Mandrel (DOM) steel tubing provides a 15% strength advantage over typical OEM cold-rolled construction. DOM tubing is straighter, rounder, and more consistent than factory driveshafts, which translates to better balance characteristics and reduced vibration at high RPM. The forged steel transmission yoke fits 28-spline Ford output shafts, making this driveshaft compatible with AOD, C4, T-5, T-10, Top Loader, and TREMEC TR3550 transmissions.

    Every shaft is manufactured to exacting standards using cutting-edge driveline technology. Before final assembly, each tube is straightened beyond OEM tolerances to ensure the driveshaft spins true on its centerline. Computer-controlled high-speed balancing eliminates any residual imbalance that could cause vibration, while the black paint finish provides lasting corrosion protection. Maximum length is 54 inches - call MDL for longer applications that may require a two-piece shaft with center support.
