Description
When you're swapping in a TREMEC transmission or replacing a worn factory driveshaft, OEM-spec tubing often can't handle the increased torque or the new transmission-to-axle configuration. This custom steel driveshaft solves that problem with DOM construction that outperforms standard welded tubing where it matters most: torsional strength and concentricity.
The DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) manufacturing process cold-draws electric resistance welded tubing through dies and over mandrels, refining the dimensional tolerances, improving yield and tensile strength, and removing all trace of the weld seam. The result is a tube with superior concentricity and uniform wall thickness that eliminates the vibration issues common with lesser tubing. MDL specs this shaft at 15% stronger than OEM—real-world margin for serious street and strip applications.
The 31-spline forged steel slip yoke provides maximum strength at the critical spline engagement point, while the 1310 series U-joints feature 1.062" cap diameter and 3.219" cross width for reliable torque transfer. Every shaft is high-speed balanced to eliminate vibration throughout the RPM range. The 3.5-inch tube diameter provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio for most performance builds.
Each driveshaft is custom-built to your exact measurements after transmission installation, ensuring perfect fitment for Ford, GM, and Mopar applications.
