Over time, OEM shifter boots crack, tear, or deteriorate from heat cycling and age, allowing contaminants to infiltrate the shifter base and compromise shift quality. This replacement boot restores proper sealing and protection.
This is a shifter base dust boot - not a console boot or floor boot. It covers the top of the shifter base assembly where the shift lever exits, creating a barrier against contamination. The boot measures 3.5" diameter by 1.8" tall overall and snaps securely onto the approximately 2.8" diameter shifter housing, sealing around the 5/8" to 3/4" diameter shift lever stub shaft.
The durable rubber construction maintains flexibility across temperature extremes while resisting cracking and UV degradation. Compatible with OEM shifters only on Ford, Chevy, and Pontiac vehicles equipped with TREMEC T5, T45, T56, and 3650 transmissions. This boot will not fit aftermarket shifters.
