    Description

    Finding quality clutch components for Ford Flathead V8 engines has become increasingly difficult, and the unique bell housing geometry of these engines limits your options. Due to the design of modern diaphragm clutches, only 10-inch long pattern clutches fit the 59A and 8BA stamped or cast bell ring configurations. This MDL Superior clutch kit delivers a precisely engineered solution with the correct long pattern pressure plate and hand-built disk designed specifically for Flathead applications using hydraulic release systems.

    The organic friction material provides the smooth pedal feel and progressive engagement characteristics that street-driven hot rods and classic trucks demand. Unlike harsh ceramic or metallic compounds, organic facings engage quietly with minimal chatter while still delivering solid holding power for applications up to 200 lb-ft of torque. The sprung hub absorbs driveline shock loads during hard shifts, protecting your transmission input shaft and reducing wear throughout the drivetrain.

    Every Superior clutch disk is hand-built in MDL's facility using quality materials and exacting manufacturing tolerances. Each disk undergoes thorough inspection for proper runout, parallelism, and balance before it goes in the box. This level of quality control ensures you receive a ready-to-install piece that performs flawlessly from day one. The included pilot bearing and alignment tool provide everything needed for professional installation.

    This kit is designed for Ford Flathead V8 engines equipped with 10-inch long pattern flywheels. Note that this kit is configured for hydraulic release -- no throwout bearing is included.
