The 10.4" metric pattern matches the larger-diameter flywheel Ford adopted in the mid-'80s, providing more surface area and higher torque capacity than earlier designs. Kevlar facings on both the flywheel side and pressure plate side offer an excellent balance between grip and streetability - you get the holding power you need without the aggressive bite that makes stop-and-go traffic miserable. The sprung hub design further smooths engagement by absorbing driveline vibration and shock loads.
The cable-profile throwout bearing included in this kit also works with hydraulic release systems, giving you installation flexibility regardless of your clutch actuation setup. Three alignment dowel pin holes in the pressure plate ensure precise clocking to the flywheel.
