Description
Missing or corroded shift boot hardware is one of the most common issues when installing a new shifter or refreshing your Mustang's interior. These factory-style U-nut clips restore proper mounting for the lower shift boot extension, ensuring a tight seal around the shifter opening in the transmission tunnel.
The clips attach directly to the sheet metal around the shifter access hole, providing threaded receptacles for the mounting bolts. This design sandwiches the lower shift boot flange securely to the floor pan, sealing out road noise, moisture, and debris that would otherwise enter the cabin. Without properly functioning clip nuts, shift boots cannot maintain their seal--leading to rattles, drafts, and contaminants in the interior.
