Description
External slave cylinders create clearance headaches and bellhousing compatibility issues that derail Ford TKO and TKX swaps. The Tilton 6000 Series Hydraulic Release Bearing eliminates those problems entirely. This internal hydraulic design slips directly over the transmission's bearing retainer - no machining, no adapter plates, no fighting for space. The result is a clean installation that works with most bellhousings, including original 4-speed and big block bells that external slaves can't accommodate.

The billet aluminum body and piston are precision-machined in-house at Tilton Engineering, then fitted with a high-temperature mono-seal that incorporates a quad tensioner to maintain proper seal tension under extreme conditions. The constant contact design keeps the bearing face against the pressure plate fingers at all times - no gap to manage, no adjustment as the clutch wears. Pedal feel stays consistent from fresh install through the clutch's entire service life.
The stainless steel threaded adjustment sleeve delivers nearly 1.25" of height adjustability, accommodating bearing heights from 1.77" to 3.00" to work with a wide range of clutch configurations. The flat face bearing design with 1.71" to 3.03" contact diameter is engineered for 8.5" to 11" bent-finger and lever-type pressure plates. With 0.7" of piston travel, this bearing handles aggressive clutch setups without running out of stroke.
Compatible with Ford TKO and TKX transmissions with 1.430" bearing retainer guide tube diameter. Will not work with big-input Toploaders. For a complete hydraulic clutch system, pair with an MDL LF Series Master Clutch Kit and a steel braided line of appropriate length (24" recommended for most applications).
