Description
The Tilton 6000 Series Hydraulic Release Bearing is the solution when external slave cylinders cause interference or when no external kit exists for your application. Using hydraulic technology from Tilton Engineering, these bearings are easy to install - simply slip over the bearing retainer of the transmission - and are built to last. The internal hydraulic design maintains the light pedal feel you want while eliminating clearance issues that plague external slave setups.
Compatibility extends to most bellhousings. While external slaves only work with specific bells, this internal style allows use of other bells including original 4-speed bells and big block bells. The 6000 Series hydraulic release bearings have been designed for ease of installation and maximum reliability at a competitive price. The stainless steel threaded bearing retainer-mount sleeve offers nearly 1.25" of adjustability, allowing this unit to accommodate a wide variety of clutch configurations.
The high-temperature mono-seal design features a quad tensioner to ensure proper seal tension and the highest reliability. The constant contact design self-adjusts for clutch wear and maintains the same pedal feel throughout the clutch's life - no additional return springs or helper springs are required. This Tilton hydraulic release bearing assembly is self-adjusting once proper set-height has been accomplished; the bearing will always be in contact with the pressure plate fingers without being under constant load.
This bearing is designed specifically for GM T5 transmissions with bearing retainer guide tube size measuring 1.375". A typical complete solution consists of an LF Series Master Clutch Kit, a steel braided line of appropriate length (24" recommended for most applications), and this internal hydraulic release bearing. Note: May need (1) MD-401-197 spacer and (4) 68062 bolts depending on application - OK to return if not needed.
