    Description

The GM LT1 T-56 presents unique challenges when upgrading to push-style clutches or converting to LS power. The original pull-style clutch setup with its external slave cylinder and short input shaft limits your options and creates clearance headaches with many bellhousing configurations. The Tilton 6000 Series hydraulic release bearing eliminates these constraints by mounting concentrically inside the bellhousing, freeing you to run the pressure plate and flywheel combination your build actually needs.

Designed specifically for the non-Magnum GM LT T-56, this slip-on unit mounts directly onto the factory 1.375in. bearing retainer guide tube without modification. The billet aluminum body houses Tilton's proven hydraulic piston assembly with 0.700in. of stroke - enough travel to fully release even aggressive multi-disc setups. The high-temperature mono-seal with quad tensioner maintains consistent sealing under extreme conditions, while the constant contact design automatically compensates for clutch disc wear, eliminating the need for periodic adjustment and maintaining the same light pedal feel throughout the clutch's service life.

The stainless steel threaded adjustment sleeve is the key differentiator, providing nearly 1.25in. of height adjustment (1.77in. to 3.00in. installed height) to accommodate various clutch configurations without shimming or spacers. The flat face bearing with 1.71in. to 3.03in. contact diameter fits most 8.5in. to 11in. bent-finger and lever-type pressure plates. This internal slave design extends compatibility to most bellhousings - including original 4-speed bells, big block bells, and aftermarket units - where external slaves create clearance problems or simply don't fit.

Pair this hydraulic release bearing with an MDL LF Series Master Clutch Kit and the appropriate length steel braided supply line (24in. recommended for most applications) for a complete hydraulic clutch actuation system. Sold only with MDL hydraulic clutch profile assemblies. Includes lifetime technical support from Modern Driveline.

    FAQs

    Q. How to I convert the LT T-56 to a push style pressure plate? A. The first step is to purchase this LT T-56 HRB kit that attaches the stock LT T-56 and provides room for a conversion flywheel and push in pressure plate that MDL offers. This avoids the costly LS input shaft and front plate conversion that is hard to come by.
