    Description

Eliminate mechanical linkage headaches and bellhousing clearance issues with this complete Tilton 6000 Series hydraulic release bearing solution for GM TKO and TKX transmissions. Where external slave cylinders create interference problems or your bellhousing lacks provisions for outboard mounting, this internal concentric slave cylinder design delivers race-proven Tilton reliability in a street-friendly package.

The slip-on design installs directly over your transmission's input shaft bearing retainer—no custom machining or bellhousing modifications required. This opens up compatibility with original GM 4-speed bellhousings, big block applications, and other configurations where external slaves simply won't fit. The stainless steel threaded adjustment sleeve provides nearly 1.25 inches of height adjustability, with total bearing height ranging from 1.77 to 3.00 inches to accommodate different pressure plate heights and clutch disc thicknesses.

Tilton's high-temperature mono-seal design uses a quad tensioner system to maintain optimal seal pressure under demanding conditions. The constant contact design eliminates free play adjustments—as your clutch disc wears, the bearing automatically maintains proper finger contact without affecting pedal feel. With 0.700 inch of piston travel, you get complete clutch disengagement with properly sized master cylinder systems. The flat face bearing works with both bent-finger and lever-type pressure plates in 8.5–11 inch clutch assemblies.

This is a complete kit ready for installation—not all hydraulic bearing kits include everything you need, but MDL ensures you won't have to source additional fittings or hardware. Requires 1.500 to 1.750 inch clearance for proper installation. Compatible with DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. Kits ship with 5/16 inch bearing retainer bolts; if your transmission uses 3/8 inch bolts (as found on OEM Muncie transmissions), contact MDL to discuss options.

    FAQs

    Q. Will I need to check the front input shaft bearing shimming when installing this HRB? A. Yes, since the bearing retainer is bearing replaced, checking the end play is highly recommended.
