Description
Every manual transmission Corvette relies on a rubber boot to seal the gap between the shifter and console plate. This console boot is a factory-correct reproduction for late 1968 and 1969 C3 Corvettes, featuring the distinctive double-fold bellows design that distinguishes it from the earlier single-fold version used on early '68 models.
The seal this boot creates is more than cosmetic. The transmission tunnel channels exhaust heat and fumes directly under the console, and a cracked or missing boot allows that contaminated air to enter the passenger compartment. Replacing a deteriorated boot restores cabin air quality and keeps tunnel heat where it belongs—outside the cockpit.
Built from durable rubber compound, this boot withstands the constant flexing from shifter movement and the elevated temperatures found in the transmission tunnel. The square base configuration matches the original console plate opening, and installation follows factory procedure: four oval-head Phillips screws secure the boot from the underside of the console plate. Whether you are restoring a numbers-matching '69 427 or upgrading an LS-swapped restomod, this boot keeps your interior sealed and comfortable.
