    Description

Building a high-horsepower street car means you need a clutch that can handle the power without turning your daily driver into a race-only machine. The McLeod RST Twin Disc Clutch Kit delivers 800hp holding capacity while maintaining the smooth engagement and soft pedal effort you need for stop-and-go traffic. This economically priced twin disc setup lets you keep your existing flywheel thanks to McLeod's patent-pending adapter ring technology.

The twin organic-faced friction discs with sprung hubs provide excellent release characteristics and driver-friendly engagement that single-disc clutches at this power level simply cannot match. The diaphragm pressure plate delivers consistent clamping force, while the floater plate distributes load evenly between both discs. The low rotating mass design reduces drivetrain inertia for quicker throttle response.

This kit is configured for Ford applications using a 157T flywheel with 10-spline x 1-1/16" input shaft and 10.5" bolt pattern. The small black adapter ring (8mm bolt pattern) bolts directly to compatible small-diameter flywheels. Note: This clutch is engineered specifically for street performance - it is not designed for competition use. For cable-equipped applications, McLeod recommends an adjustable clutch fork ball stud and throwout bearing (sold separately).

All McLeod clutches are made in the USA and backed by a 90-day manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

    FAQs

    Q. What are MUST'S' when changing my clutch? A. 1. Change the pilot bearing. 2. Break the clutch in according to the instructions provided. 3. Ensure proper bellhousing alignment. 4. Resurface the flywheel. This is a critical step to guard against clutch chatter/shudder. We recommend a very coarse surface texture from a stone grinder. Something that if you ran your fingernail across the flywheel, the texture would catch your nail. 5. Inspect the entire clutch system, including hydraulics and linkage. Replacement of the Hydraulic slave with an OEM replacement is critical. Q. Do I have to use alignment pins in the flywheel? A. Yes. The pins help to ensure proper alignment of the pressure plate and add strength. Q. What causes clutch chatter? A. 1. Oil or grease on the clutch facings. 2. Worn or damaged clutch linkage, leaf springs, bushings, mounts, u-joints, CV joints, engine mounts, transmission mounts. 3. A flywheel that has not been resurfaced properly, has hot spots, has excessive run-out and or incorrect flywheel step. 4. Pressure plate or disc that is bent. 5. Defective pressure plate and or disc. 6. An engine that is not tuned properly. 7. A disc that either lacks enough marcel or has no marcel at all.
