Description
Converting a '72-'76 Torino from automatic to manual transmission means solving the clutch pedal problem - and this engineered solution makes the job significantly easier. This OEM replacement clutch pedal features a removable pivot shaft that lets you install the pedal without wrestling the entire pedal support assembly out of the car.
The removable shaft design is the key differentiator. Traditional clutch pedal installations require removing the pedal support to slide the pedal onto a fixed shaft - a time-consuming process in the tight confines of a Torino interior. This design lets you position the pedal first, then install the shaft through both the pedal and support bracket. The result is faster installation with better access to the firewall area.
Engineered to work with both automatic and manual pedal support brackets, this pedal eliminates the need to source hard-to-find manual-specific hardware. The automatic brake pedal can be trimmed on the left side to serve as the manual brake pad, saving the cost and effort of finding a separate manual brake pedal. A spring pivot point is included for mechanical linkage setups, though the spring is not used with cable or hydraulic clutch systems.
