This MDL 5-Speed Black Shift Ball solves that problem with subsurface graphics that are embedded below the polished surface - they physically cannot wear off, fade, or chip regardless of how many miles you put on the car or how aggressively you shift.
The ball is constructed from a specially formulated high-impact polymer resin developed specifically for automotive applications. Unlike generic plastics that crack and degrade with age and temperature cycling, this formulation resists stress cracking even after years of exposure to heat, cold, and UV light.
