Modern DrivelineLight Foot series Hydraulic Master cylinder clutch cylinder kit for 1960-1972 C10 / C20 Series Pick up using the stock clutch pedal.Engineered to use the factory full swing of the pedal, for maximum leverage, it provides a light pedal effort and full control of the clutch. This translates to a drive you will love.Unique toMDLis the clutch pedal linkage that moves the master cylinder to provide room for brake boosters of all types and most importantly driver control.Gone are the days of having to engineer a kit from scratch only to leave you frustrated with the results. This Type 3 master cylinder utilizes a .750? small-bore 1.4? long-stroke cylinder to provide the most common fluid volume requirements needed in todays hydraulic slave cylinders. Couple this master cylinder kit with eitherMDLLF series external slave cylinder kit or Tilton Engineering internal hydraulic release bearing results in a complete hydraulic clutch solution ready to install. All MDL Hydraulic kits come with our 1-man Bleeder kit to make installation easier. Click here to learn more about the Tilton 6000 Slave Throw-out bearing

    LF (Light Foot) Series
    • Pedal linkage for light pedal effort
    • Uses stock clutch pedal and rod hole (where possible) for ease of installation
    • Included remote reservoir
    • Works with most internal and external slaves.
Common Hydraulic conversion problemsThe common approach was to use a 3/4? or 7/8? bore x 1? stroke master cylinder connected to the pedal directly resulting in the following.
    • Improper pedal pressure and stroke the cylinder needed to be raised higher than the stock clutch rod linkage hole.
    • Interference issues on the firewall or pedal assembly.
    • Heavy pedal pressure or a very short stroke or both.
Revolutionary Design Linkage DesignThe LF Series Hydraulic Clutch Master is a revolutionary design for retrofitting hydraulics into the classic cars Modern Driveline solved these issues with innovative pedal linkage that matches pedal travel with a long stroke master cylinder for a reduced clutch pedal load. The linkage allows for great design flexibility and greatly improved drivers experience. We offer the master cylinders in three different bore sizes to match the slave cylinder volume requirements. In most cases our .750? bore with 1.4? stroke is the perfect match for most slave cylinders on the market and all our LF series slaves, Tilton 6000 Series internal bearings. Please contact us if you have any special requirements. 208-453-9800
    • The long-stroke, small bore master cylinder minimizes loading of the firewall and pedal effort.
    • A firewall plate with mechanical linkage greatly reduces firewall load and pedal effort while providing designflexibility to use the stock clutch rod hole.
    • The mechanical linkage design also allows the full stroke of the pedal to maximize clutch modulation while keeping the cylinder perpendicular to the firewall and providing a mechanical advantage thus reducing the pedal pressure required to operate the clutch.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two untill your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.

Used this kit on my 1968 c10 that I have a ls with a t56 manual conversion . Installation was straight forward just read the detailed instructions with pictures correctly . Works as it should now that I'm putting some miles on my truck . Would definitely buy it again and recommend this for anyone trying to modernize your classic with a hydraulic clutch conversion.
Note From Store Owner: Thank you so much for the review! We are glad that the speedometer cable worked well for you. If you need anything else for your build, let us know!
