    Description

The LF Series Hydraulic Master Kit solves the common problems that plague traditional hydraulic conversions in 1960-1972 Chevy and GMC full-size trucks and Blazers. Conventional setups force you to raise the master cylinder above the stock clutch rod hole, creating firewall interference and heavy pedal pressure. MDL's revolutionary linkage design maintains the factory rod location while delivering full mechanical advantage--giving you a light pedal effort and complete clutch control.

The Type 3 master cylinder utilizes a 0.750" small-bore with 1.4" long-stroke configuration, providing the fluid volume requirements needed for today's hydraulic slave cylinders. The innovative pedal linkage allows the full swing of the factory pedal to maximize clutch modulation while keeping the cylinder perpendicular to the firewall. This mechanical advantage drastically reduces pedal pressure while eliminating the firewall stress common with direct-mount designs. The linkage also provides clearance for brake boosters of all types.

The integral reservoir eliminates external fluid lines and remote mounting complexity, providing a clean, reliable installation. The system is engineered to work seamlessly with MDL LF Series external slaves, Tilton 6000 Series internal bearings, and most hydraulic release systems on the market. Use DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid only--no high-temperature fluid required.

Compatible with 1960-1972 Chevrolet and GMC C10, C20, and full-size Blazer trucks using factory or OE reproduction clutch pedals. Proudly made in the USA with MDL's lifetime technical support.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.

Used this kit on my 1968 c10 that I have a ls with a t56 manual conversion . Installation was straight forward just read the detailed instructions with pictures correctly . Works as it should now that I'm putting some miles on my truck . Would definitely buy it again and recommend this for anyone trying to modernize your classic with a hydraulic clutch conversion.
