    MDL External Hydraulic Slave kit Ford Modular 4.6/5.0L TKO/TKX Aluminum BellhousingModern Driveline Lightfoot series clutch slave cylinder kit for Ford Modular V8 3550/TKO series five-speed aluminum bellhousing is the solution for converting the cable bellhousing to external hydraulic release. Mounting to the bellhousing, the cylinder pushes from the rear of the fork, clearing long tube headers while making it easy to install and service. Gone are the problems of clutch cable clearance issues and heavier pedal due to worn cables that drag. When coupled to MDL LF Series master cylinder kits, installing or converting to hydraulic clutch release could be easier. Engineered as a system, it takes the guesswork out while providing maximum results.

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two untill your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.

    The bracket won’t fit a tkx with out cutting notches in it to clear the webs. The pushrod was to short and required some help with parts from the hardware store
    Note From Store Owner: It is important that the clutch fork be in the correct loction. If the fork is too far forward to do a shorter pressure plate lever height, the fork will be moved forward. With cable release forks, the ratio is about 3:1. So if the clutch is even .1" shorter, this will move the fork forward .3" at the end. This can be corrected by installing a lock washer under the pivot stud to make is taller. This will correct for the shorter clutch. We provide plenty of adjustment in the Hydraulic cylinder kit, if the adjust can not be reached, it is time to focus on the fork placement.
