    Description

    Classic Aston Martin owners face a unique challenge when upgrading to a modern 5-speed overdrive: virtually nothing fits without extensive custom fabrication. This MDL-modified T5Z solves that problem with application-specific machining designed around Aston Martin dimensional requirements. The custom input shaft features a 0.749" pilot tip sized precisely for Aston Martin crankshaft pilot bores, while the flat-machined mounting pad -- 4" wide and centered on the transmission centerline -- ensures proper alignment with factory Aston Martin mounting configurations.

    The smallest and lightest transmission in the TREMEC lineup at just 75 lbs dry, the T5Z fits where larger transmissions simply cannot. Don't let the compact size mislead you -- this transmission safely handles 330 ft-lb of torque and is suitable for 450 hp streetcars running DOT-approved tires. The World Class internals featuring tapered carrier bearings, main needle bearings, and carbon fiber synchronizer rings on 1st through 4th gears deliver smooth, precise shifts with excellent long-term durability.

    The 2.95 first gear provides strong acceleration off the line, while the 0.73 overdrive drops highway RPMs significantly -- improving fuel economy, reducing engine temperatures, lowering drivetrain wear, and delivering a quieter, more relaxed cruising experience.
