    Description

    When you need serious bite and maximum holding power from a 10.4" clutch disc, this Superior Series assembly delivers the aggressive engagement that high-performance Ford 5.0L builds demand. The dual-material facing strategy puts Kevlar on the flywheel side for controlled initial engagement and ceramic on the pressure plate side for hard-hitting torque capacity. This combination provides 575 lb-ft of holding power - the answer when you can't fit a larger-diameter disc but still need to handle serious power.

    Ceramic friction material earns its place in performance applications for a reason: it has a higher coefficient of friction than organic or Kevlar-only options, so it bites harder and holds more torque for a given clamping force. The ceramic material actually increases friction as operating temperature rises, making it ideal for repeated drag launches and road-course sessions where lesser materials would fade. The Kevlar flywheel side moderates that aggression just enough to keep street driving civilized while delivering the quick, hard engagement drag racers and spirited street drivers demand.

    The 10.4" metric bolt pattern uses 8mm x 1.25 bolts with three alignment dowel pins to ensure precise centering and proper clamp load distribution - the standard configuration for '86-and-later Ford 5.0L HO applications. The sprung hub design isolates drivetrain shock, while the diaphragm pressure plate maintains consistent pedal effort throughout its service life. Every Superior clutch disc is hand-assembled in MDL's Caldwell, Idaho facility and double-checked for runout, balance, and proper engagement before it ships.

    This kit fits Ford transmissions with a 10-spline input shaft, including factory T5, T-45, 3650, and T56 units, as well as stock '03-'04 Cobra T56 transmissions. Requires a 10.4" metric-pattern flywheel with dowel pin holes. Designed for mechanical (linkage-actuated) throw-out bearing systems. Made in the USA and backed by MDL's 1-year free-from-defect warranty plus lifetime technical support.
